“I came to Britain’s Got Talent because I would love to perform for the British Royal Family, it’d be an honour for me,” Destiny says on this evening’s episode. “My dream is to win, who knows, maybe it’ll change my life,” adds the teenager.
Destiny is a 14 year old school girl from Malta who loves soul and gospel and started singing four years ago in school. Since then she’s already enjoyed some success; in 2015 she entered and won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her dream is to have a global singing career and to perform in front of Simon Cowell, the latter half of which she accomplishes tonight.
On stage Destiny says she’s “excited but nervous” as she names the likes of Beyonce and Aretha Franklin as her inspiration.
And it’s an Aretha track that Destiny takes on for her audition, belting out Think for the panel.
Alesha Dixon declares: “For me that is a knockout. That is one of the hardest songs to sing, and you are 14 and you killed it!”
David Williams reacts: “What happened to the shy 14 year old girl from Malta?!”

And Simon Cowell concludes: “Destiny, I’ve been waiting for someone to come out who we think could be a star and guess who it is? You have soul.”
It’s looking good for Destiny and you can watch her full audition when Britain’s Got Talent returns to TV tonight at 8PM on ITV.
